The National Centre for Law & Administration or NCLA will work towards sharpening the legal acumen of the civil servants, help raise competencies amongst officers, and facilitate focussed legal education about various statutes, constitutional provisions and judicial pronouncements through regular training programmes & research. To fulfil these objectives ,various activities proposed for this Centre are as follows:

• To curate content and inputs for the various mandatory training programmes conducted here. The need to expand the law inputs given in courses has also been received from many batches of participants and hence the Centre will be tasked with curating 101 to 501 programmes for different courses, on diverse issues of law.
• To further the idea of training continuum, whereby the Academy continuously handholds officers through their postings (in between different trainings) as per their requirements, this Centre will also conduct regular workshops on latest important Acts, judgments, etc and their effective implementation in the field. This would help strengthen the knowledge base of officers dealing with sensitive and complicated issues in which they have little or no prior experience.
• To curate sessions and practical experiences for newly recruited trainees in legal matters by organising legal aid camps, debates, moots, etc. which will allow them to develop a strong sense of logic and legal acumen during their training period itself.
• To collect the latest case laws/ judgements etc. which have the effect of major impactful changes as a part of the legal literacy outreach. These will be analysed, summarized and disseminated for the benefit of officers who are tasked with execution of various works on behalf of government and whom these judgements impact directly/ indirectly.
• To institutionalise a system whereby cases of major implications, long term impact, etc, are discussed in-depth by a mixed group of lawyers, administrators, judges and similar experts, before an open forum. These discussions and their conclusions can form a part of a detailed articles/ publications, providing insights to those officers interested in and affected by such matters.
